Susan started Paintberry Studio as a way of contributing to the arts community and sharing her work with a wider audience. Working using traditional oil techniques on canvas, aluminum panel, or board, she finds special joy in capturing the inherent dignity of each person, the personality of each animal, or the essential beauty of plein aire or still life scenes that she paints. In the current digital world where things may not always be what they seem, Susan tries to capture what she sees honestly and with integrity.
Susan gladly accepts commissions for portraits of people, pets, or places. In her own work, she finds special fulfillment in creating paintings that portray the lives of women, whether close to home or observed in her travels to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, or other locales.
